Representatives of the NCID participated in a training course on medical ethics

Continuing professional education (CPE) of specialists lies at the core of the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) activities. Representatives of the NCID participated in a two-day training course organized jointly by the ethics committee of healthcare professionals and the Council of Europe Office, designed for trainers on the topic “Code of Ethics for Healthcare providers and the Functioning of Ethics Committees.” Participants studied both European and national standards in the field of ethical codes and the operation of ethics committees. International and national experts from the Council of Europe also presented the fundamental principles of medical confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent. In addition to the theoretical component, participants were actively engaged in practical exercises, including case studies and role-playing activities. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive certificates and will be authorized to conduct accredited courses within the framework of continuous professional development for healthcare professionals. The NCID places great importance on the protection of human rights and adherence to internationally recognized norms of medical ethics, and its efforts in this direction are ongoing and systematic.
