The Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) is primarily responsible for the management of data related to HIV, AIDS, viral hepatitis, and other infectious diseases. By collecting, processing, and analyzing HIV-related data, the department plays a critical role in monitoring and evaluating the spread of HIV.

The main goal of the department is to ensure continuous monitoring of HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatment processes, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of disease prevention and control activities.

The key functions of the department include:

  • Data collection and verification from various sources (healthcare facilities, primary care units, laboratory services) to study HIV-related information.
     
  • Statistical data analysis to assess trends in HIV spread and evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare system interventions.
     
  • Analysis of treatment and monitoring data, including outpatient follow-up, death registration, treatment course information, and data on other diseases such as tuberculosis and opportunistic infections.
     
  • Study of data on HIV-positive pregnant women and children to ensure proper monitoring and provision of appropriate treatment.
     
  • Operational support for the national HIV/AIDS programs, including assistance in implementing state and international initiatives.
     
  • Data collection and summarization regarding services provided under the national hepatitis C treatment program.
     
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of services provided at the Center to assess their effectiveness.
     

The department also plays a significant role in the development and improvement of preventive measures by analyzing data and providing the necessary information to support efforts aimed at reducing HIV transmission.
